Battle Ships is a simple yet strategic isometric simulation game that pits you against a computer-controlled fleet. Your mission is to locate and destroy all enemy ships before your fleet is wiped out. It's a digital twist on the classic naval guessing game, with intuitive gameplay and strategic depth.
Start by opening the game in your browser or platform of choice. There's no need for a complex setup—just press play, and you're taken straight into the action.
The game is played on a grid where both you and the computer place ships. Each turn, you pick a grid coordinate to fire on, trying to locate and sink your opponent’s hidden vessels.
Before the battle begins, you'll need to arrange your ships strategically on your grid. Each ship takes up a specific number of grid squares.
Drag and drop your ships into position. You can rotate them to place them vertically or horizontally. Try to avoid predictable patterns to make it harder for the computer to guess their locations.
Make sure your ships don’t overlap or sit outside the grid. Once placed, your fleet is locked in for the round, so take your time to plan effectively.
Once the game begins, you and the computer will take turns attacking grid squares to find each other's ships.
Click on a square in the enemy grid to fire a shot. If it hits, you'll see a marker and can plan your next shot accordingly. A miss will simply mark the space as empty.
The computer will also try to hit your ships. Pay attention to its pattern of attacks—it may give you clues about how it searches.
Though Battle Ships is based on chance and deduction, using strategy can give you an advantage.
Start with a grid-like or checkerboard attack pattern to cover more space early on. Once you get a hit, focus your shots around that area.
Imagine where you would hide ships and use that logic to guess the computer's placements. Avoid placing all your ships along edges or corners.
